How MultiStore POS collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our cloud POS, online storefront, and related services.
Who we are
MultiStore POS ("we", "us", "our") provides cloud point-of-sale software, multi-store management tools, and optional online storefront features for businesses in Nigeria and similar markets. This policy explains what personal and business data we handle and why.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service, support your account, and meet legal obligations. Categories include:
- Account & business profile — business name, owner name, email, phone, store addresses, industry type, and subscription plan.
- Staff users — names, login emails, roles, and activity related to POS operations.
- Sales & operations data — products, services, orders, invoices, inventory movements, and reports you create in the platform.
- Online shop & payments — customer names, contact details, order contents, payment references, and payout status when you use integrated checkout.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, log files, and cookies needed for security and performance.
- Support & communications — messages you send through contact forms, email, or in-app feedback.
How we use information
We use collected data to provide and improve the platform, authenticate users, process subscriptions, operate online checkout and store payouts, send service notices, prevent fraud, and comply with applicable law. We do not sell your personal data or your customers' data to advertisers or data brokers.
When we share information
We share data only with trusted processors that help us deliver the service, or when the law requires it:
- Payment partners — Paystack and related banking partners process subscription payments and, where enabled, online shop checkout. They receive payment and identity details required to complete transactions under their own privacy terms.
- Infrastructure providers — hosting, email delivery, backups, and monitoring vendors that store or transmit data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- Your choices — data you export, share via WhatsApp receipts, or publish through your public online store is shared according to your actions.
- Legal & safety — regulators, courts, or law enforcement when we are legally obliged to respond, or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.
Security & retention
We apply access controls, encryption in transit (TLS), and industry-standard practices to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong passwords and limit staff access appropriately.
We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, and legal record-keeping. Transaction and accounting records may be retained longer where required for tax or regulatory purposes.
Your rights (NDPR & similar laws)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal data, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email hello@multistorepos.com.ng with your business name and the email on the account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be announced by email or in-app notice.
